Why is the US economy so resilient and bigger than almost every other country's?

I saw an interesting comment about this in a post asking why the US seems to have a new billionaire every day but China does not, and the response was in part because the US does not have a payroll tax.
It also struck me that the Chinese economy is disproportionately bigger than other Asian countries like Japan or South Korea, even though all these countries are extremely technologically advanced, have widespread high speed rail and public transportation, have widespread 5g or 6g, have open democracies, and have Made in X branding.

So why does the US economy have such a large lead and is there anything that can be done by other countries to catch up?
