So I've been doing some research and the best way to get rid of the likelihood of inherited health issues is to go to a breeder with a litter on the ground. The research states that this is the best way because you can get a good idea of what the puppy will look like at maturity, you can interact with the parents and get a sense of their temperament and the breeder is on the hook to prove that the puppy will not be prone to inherited health issues. This all makes sense to me.
