This happened about a year ago, I was really scared and after this incident, I've become really paranoid, turning off and on the door knob and checking the locks multiple times, even if I've never done it before.

It's a story about me, an 11-year-old girl, who lives alone in my apartment during the week to attend school (I was a scholarship student. I live with my family over the weekend and holidays).

I live alone during the week because the school is far from my home, and my parents don't want to drive me there every day after waking up at 4:30 a.m. for work.

I've been doing this for a year without incident, until one day...

On that day, I fell asleep while watching TV and didn't lock the door. I always lock my door and keep my key in my room when I fall asleep alone.

The next morning, I discovered that the door was wide open and the TV was still on. It was turned off when I went to bed, but now it was on, and the channel was different from the one I was watching. It was a duet music video from the Korean survival show "I Can See Your Voice." I don't usually watch that kind of channel, and the fact that someone was in my house while I was sleeping shook me.

I was terrified, I locked the door and checked it multiple times, then I grabbed a big knife from the kitchen in case someone came back.

I told my parents about the incident, and we've never spoken about it since then. I'm really scared and on edge. I don't want to go through something like that again.

Please stay safe, and don't let anyone in your house while you're alone!
