You woke up on the cold floor of a prison cell. Your head pounded in pain, your eyes felt like they had been glued together. The first thing you noticed upon coming to was you weren't in your own bed, and had little to no memory of events leading up to the present moment.

As if triggered by your awakening, the walls surrounding the cell began to glow. A voice thundered through the room through some unseen speakers.

"You have committed the highest crime possible, the crime of treason. In prison there is no hope for redemption. In fact, no prisoner has ever left this place without having undergone a necessary treatment. Death has proven to be the only cure for treason."

Looking around, you realized this wasn't actually a prison cell. It had no bars to speak of, only cold grey steel walls. There was no door, only a gridded iron ceiling, and a large amount of blood covering the floor.

"Please note that you will be forced to fight for your life. Every contestant must fight to survive. This is a murder room, and it is your duty to kill your fellow contestants to survive. You are now free to roam, and the first to die will be the one to suffer the punishment."

It wasn't clear what the punishment was, but it sounded painful. Your head still throbbed from earlier, and you were still getting used to your surroundings. You felt like your body had been pummeled, to say the least. Why did they want you to fight? Only an hour ago you were resting in your bed, getting ready for a good day of work. Now you were dragged to this godforsaken place, forced to fight to survive.

As the metallic ceiling began to open, and people began to fall in, you began the long, arduous process of getting to your feet. Your body ached, and you thought you were going to faint for a second. Everything was spinning, and your head pounded. And yet, somehow, you managed to get to your feet.

The first person to fall was a young girl, no more than 14 years old. She looked terrified, and if the situation wasn't already dangerous enough, you knew that the moment anyone realized that this poor girl was in here, she would be targeted.

You knew that you had to survive. Not for yourself, but in the hopes that you could somehow, against all the odds, protect the young girl.
