The USA claims to be a democracy but it is not. It is a Republic.

Here’s why. Imagine a population of one million people who vote. The way democracy works is that the majority always wins. There are a minority of people who are… let’s call them sociopaths. Let’s be very optimistic and say that only 10% of the population are sociopaths. <br><br>So if one million people vote, we can assume that 100,000 are sociopathic. If we say that half of the population has a low IQ, that’s another 500,000 people who take their cues from the media, tell them what to think and believe, and will vote the way that the media tells them to vote. <br><br>Now we are looking at 600,000 people, 60% of the population, who don’t really know what they believe - they just know what they are told to believe. So the majority will always win – 60% of the population.<br><br>So if you are part of the 40% minority who really have a clue, who really know what’s going on and can think critically on your own, who are not sociopaths, who can see through the media’s propaganda - well, folks, you are fucked. Democracy is not for you. Democracy is for the majority. If you are in the minority, democracy is not for you. <br><br>So think about it. Democracy is essentially the worship of idiots: the majority rules. This is why the media works so hard to confuse people, to make them illiterate, to make them think that they can’t figure anything out on their own, and to tell them what to think. <br><br>Democracy is not about freedom of expression and doing what you want to do, it is about the majority coercing you to do what they want you to do. <br><br>That’s all that democracy has ever been about. It has nothing to do with liberty, freedom of expression, doing the right thing, etc. It is a system where 50% + 1 of the population can tell the other 49% of the population what to do and make them do it, no matter what the consequences.
