How do I make new friends as an adult? Especially when working at home?

I was always a lonely kid, and we moved around a lot until I was 10 or so, so I never really knew how to make friends. I’m almost 27 now and feel like I’m the same lonely kid I was in middle school. <br><br>I work freelance contracts most of the time which means I work from home, by myself. I get really anxious in social situations too which doesn’t help. People say to join clubs or go to events but I’m not really passionate about much of anything and I’m not quite sure how to put myself out there when leaving the house (and driving is leaving the house) is such a huge hurdle for me. <br><br>I’m tired of feeling so lonely, and I know I have to make an effort but I just don’t know where to start.
