I've been rewatching it and I seriously cannot get over how good it is. Intelligent writing, consistent tone, relatable characters, strong dialogue, and the worldbuilding. Good shit. I do agree that the first two episodes are kinda... meh, but that's what pilots are for. It's really interesting to see a story take place in a world so inspired by Asian and Inuit culture. It's really amazing to see a story so inspired by real world cultures and history that still manages to not be culturally insensitive.

P.S It's also really interesting to see how much the story advances in the show's 61 episode run. Like, you can't compare this to most modern television. Compare the first and last episode of Avatar to the first and last episode of a show like The Walking Dead. I love The Walking Dead, but it's really amazing to see how well developed the story in Avatar is and how much more the story advanced.
