I burned a piece of steak incredibly badly and it actually caught fire. Why can’t I do anything right?

I was incredibly sad yesterday and lost a friend of 15 years. Last night I was still feeling down but incredibly hungry. So I decided to make the most god awful thing which I happen to be good at. I managed to burn a piece of steak so badly that it actually caught fire to the extent where it actually melted to the pan. I then proceeded to incredibly burn a fried egg. After that I managed to cook some mashed potatoes. I happen to be pretty good at mash. So I managed to successfully eat a horribly burnt steak, mash and a fried egg that I didn’t want at all. My only hope was I burned a piece of incredibly bad food. So the incredibly horrible food I actually made was that piece of burnt steak. I did happen to also burn my right hand.
