There are a lot of terms in the shooting world that could be related to baseball. I figured it could be fun to have a go at it. <br><br>(in no particular order) <br><br>* Up and coming shooting method: "pop-up."<br>* A baseball swing that failed to make contact: "fly-by."<br>* Toughest pitcher in the league: "high-caliber."<br>* A baseball swing that connected with minimal force: "glancing-blow."<br>* The bases: <br> * First base: "magazine."<br> * Second base: "chamber."<br> * Third base: "muzzle."<br> * Home plate: "target."<br>* Locked and loaded: "batter up."<br>* Up to bat: "on deck."<br>* A batter that can't seem to get a hit off of a particular pitcher: "jammed."<br>* An overthrown pitch: "overshot."<br>* A baseball player constantly making mistakes: "defective."<br>* A home run: "hitting your mark."<br>* A player that is exceptionally good at catching the ball: "receiving end."<br>* A pitcher with a wicked curveball: "rifle twist."<br>* The pitch being released from the pitchers hand: "discharge."<br>* A pitcher that has given up a lot of runs a short amount of time: "spray and pray."<br>* Referee to the batter: "you know your sight picture, thus not your sight alignment?"<br>* A batter that plays the odds: "spray and pray."<br>* Umpire to the pitcher: "you threw wide."<br>* Unfortunately, the standard capacity for baseball games is nine innings. <br>* A batter is always armed, a runner becomes armed upon a steal.
