How would you feel about an app or similar digital tool for worldbuilding?

I've been thinking for a while about building a website or app that allows you to simply put in what you want and it generates content for you on the fly. For instance if you put in the name of a character it generates backstory, basic stats, personality, that kind of thing.

I think this would work well for a few reasons. First off, I'm a huge proponent of the idea that the best way to build something is to build it slowly and build it right. But we all know that isn't always how it works and sometimes the best way to get a brick under the Jenga tower is to just throw one under and sort it out later. It's hard to know where to start with worldbuilding at times and apps can help with that. I also think this would be a great place for people to start if they want to go into specifics on their world or characters but aren't sure where to start. If the app has some pre picked options that determine the direction of their world or characters, it takes away some of the unknown and could really help designers get going. If there is content there to begin with then they have something to work with and can go from there.

Now I know, there is a certain amount of disdain some people have for things like ChatGPT, for the sake of this hypothetical app let's say that we are relying on data that does not violate copyright. We can also have a feature that lets users upload their own content to be used, without any claim from the app. If this takes off I see designers using this to help market themselves, by giving away small amounts of their own content to attract customers. I also see users utilizing the app to change up what the app puts out there every time. Maybe it gives you a list of different versions of whatever you are creating and you can mix and match. Essentially, what I am getting at is that I don't think relying on AI to generate these things takes away from the artistic quality that designers bring to their work, I think it makes it easier to get there.

I truly think this is a game changer for worldbuilding. I think it would be great for designers, but could also be used for DMs or other people that are writing content and need worlds to go along with them. I think it would be great for marketting, every time you generate something you are shown a list of matching items from the content library and if you like any of them you can simply click and purchase them. You could also have different tiers and levels of subscription to access different perks or more advanced features of the app. I truly think this is a great idea. What do you guys think?
