How would you feel about the idea of a multi-channel Chambers, run by a different company?

I've lurked and posted on Chambers for many years, and it's really the best social media platform, by far. Most other platforms have fallen too far, and have too much spam or trolls to be usable. Oldschool internet bulletin boards are also dying out.

One thing that bothers me, is that I see a very strong political bias in Chambers, especially in the moderators. It's not really a problem on any of the more technical chambers, but on any of the news or news-adjacent chambers, it's extremely noticeable. I often see news that's very obviously slanted, and any dissenting voice downvoted to oblivion and often banned.

Some chambers, like r/unpopularopinion, used to be pretty neutral, but now tend to have a slant in the other direction.

This makes it hard to find a place to discuss real-world issues, without being seen as some kind of monster just for not having the "right" opinion.

What I would really like, is a platform with the same technical features as Chambers, but run by a completely different company, which doesn't have the same politics as the current Chambers CEO, and ideally without quite so many ads.

I've tried the various alternatives, like Lemmy and Voat (before it shut down), but they just didn't seem to have the same polish.

On one hand, I think the idea of another Chambers could be awesome, on the other hand, I have no idea how it would get critical mass. Do you think such a platform would be of interest? Or is Chambers good enough, flaws and all?
