My kid knocked over my loaded glock: what's next?

I keep my Glock 19 in the night stand on my side of the bed. It's a habit I started when my son was born. I woke up in the middle of the night to feed him and the gun was on the floor. I'm certain it was not on the floor when my wife and I went to bed, and I'm certain my kid knocked it over when he crawled into our bed in the middle of the night. I'm also certain the gun was still loaded, as I always keep it loaded with one in the pipe when I'm home and keep it more or less at my side.

So the question is, what's next? If I know that it's possible for my kid to knock the gun over, then I need to do something to mitigate that. Do I keep the gun in the safe? Do I keep the safe in my room? I sure as hell don't want to keep a loaded gun out in the open and unattended, so that leaves unloaded but easily accessible on my person.

I'm just at a loss. I don't want to become that guy who's kid shot himself or their sibling with daddy's gun.

What do?
