Microsoft sues OpenAI

Microsoft Corp said on Monday that its artificial intelligence-focused venture arm, M12, has sued OpenAI, the startup behind viral chatbot ChatGPT, alleging OpenAI had broken an agreement with Microsoft.<br><br>OpenAI signed an agreement in 2023 to allow a third party to acquire Microsoft Ventures LLC as part of a fundraising deal, according to the lawsuit. However, OpenAI went on to acquire the company itself, breaking the terms of the deal, Microsoft said.<br><br>The lawsuit was filed in Delaware Chancery Court on Monday, according to a court filing.
