I Finally Found His Face

*Update to the one posted by this account*

Came here to get some emotional closure after finding out one of the worst things that happened to me actually turned out to be far more sinister and horrific. I want to thank every one of you who encouraged me to still report it even though it happened so long ago. I thought it would all come to nothing, but because of your encouragement, I now finally have closure.

I recently met up with a friend i hadn't seen in a while, and as we were chatting we were talking about creepy stuff and i told them about this.

Before i go into the rest of the story, i'm gonna summarise what happened. I also have a link at the bottom so you guys get the full story from the original post, but the summary of what happened can be summarised as this:

"the situation in which I'm going to share with you now, in which I thought was just an accident that turned out to be the scariest moment of my life, happened when I was 5-6 years old (recently found out I was actually 7-8, i know this sounds weird, but you'll find out why it was different later)."

So my friend told me something similar happened to them, and they found out that what happened to them was an actual kidnapping. When they told me this, something suddenly hit me like a brick, and i suddenly remembered something i completely forgot about in the original post, which caused the same shock. This memory that suddenly hit me was this:

"Our neighbor walked across the road and into the police station and asked them to check the guy's license plate. it turns out that the license plate was registered to a completely different car make and model, and the guy who kidnapped me was driving a black car. I think it was a ford. Not only that, but when the police ran his actual license, it showed that he had several kidnappings in his history and had a warrant out for his arrest"

All of a sudden, the memory of what my neighbor told me after the incident suddenly came back, and the entire situation just hit me like a ton of bricks and i started freaking out. I didn't even finish my drink, i immediately left and drove all the way home, shaking like crazy.

When i got home, i called my sister and told her about it and she confirmed that it was true and it was one of the reasons why my mom and dad were so paranoid about me and my siblings being abducted/kidnapped. My sister also then went on to tell me that they received a call from the police immediately after reporting it, and that they found the guy and arrested him, and that he had done it to several kids before. I also found out that the reason behind my parents refusing to tell me what happened is because they were genuinely afraid that if i knew it might have really messed with my head, especially after going through PTSD and night terrors.

I stayed up all night with the lights on and couldn't sleep at all. The entire situation from start to finish from when i was a kid to now has been very emotionally draining on me. I'm glad i finally have the entire story, but it's terrifying to know that it was a lot worse than what i imagined.

I went to the police station today and talked to one of the police officers about what happened. He took down a report and told me that it isn't weird that i would forget details since i was only 7 or 8, and that it sounds like i have some repressed memories. He told me that he'll do his best to try to look up the case files and find out everything and get back to me.

I'm really glad for all the support i've received from chambers and my friends. I really appreciate it.

Thanks again to everyone for all the support. I really appreciate it.
