CMV: The way the world views cutting your hair short as a woman is absolutely offensive

I recently cut my hair very short all across the back and sides, about a #2 length, and it’s in a short bob style in the front. At the time of cutting my hair, it was shoulder length and I get regular trims. Going from having hair that was so long to almost nothing on the sides and back is like a completely different world. A world that I never want to go back to. <br><br>I absolutely love having short hair. <br><br>It’s the most liberating thing ever, being able to wake up in the morning and not have to do a damn thing. I can literally wake up and walk out the door if I want to. <br><br>You never realize how much time you actually save on a day to day basis until you cut your hair and stop caring for it. I only use one of those scalp massagers now for when I’m in the shower and I only brush it once a day. <br><br>You never realize how much money you end up saving until you cut your hair off and you don’t have to pay to get it cut or coloured.<br><br>I never want to go back to having long hair. I see old pictures of myself from when I had long hair and I just think it’s ridiculous. I also never want to go back to having to use heat to style my hair every single day. I know I can air dry and not use heat, but when you have long hair, you kind of need to. <br><br>If you’re someone who has hair that is down towards your hips or butt length, I completely understand having pride in your hair. It’s something you should absolutely be proud of. But for the love of god, if you have long hair, stop bragging about it. No one cares. I get it, your hair is pretty. We all know this and we’re all sick of it. <br><br>There is something about having short hair as a woman that people just can’t grasp. It’s ridiculous that as humans in this century, we are still so offended by women cutting their hair short. <br><br>I know a lot of men who would absolutely never date someone with short hair. A lot of men won’t even be friends with a woman with short hair if they don’t like it. What the hell? What’s wrong with men who refuse to date women with short hair? Is your fragile ego going to be hurt for the rest of your life if you date a woman with short hair? You’re literally pushing away someone you may love just because of hair and I feel like that’s absolutely pathetic. <br><br>I recently went to get my hair done and the woman cutting my hair said “you know you’ll never get a boyfriend with hair this short, right?” And I just laughed. Yes, I absolutely know that. And that’s okay, because if I won’t date a man with a fragile ego, then I probably wouldn’t date him to begin with. <br><br>There is something about having short hair as a woman that just does something for me that I can’t explain. I absolutely love having hair this short. I love having short hair and being a woman. <br><br>There is something about us women who have short hair that is just so much different than women with long hair and I can’t even begin to explain it. <br><br>I love having short hair and I love being a woman even more.
