As a Greek, I can verify that the IMF, EU and EC have been committing economic terrorism against my country for the last 13 years.

The story is pretty well known, that in 2009 we had an economic meltdown. This was because our government was cooking the books of the state and we had bad leadership. The EU would have been completely in its rights to tell us to go fuck ourselves and die.<br><br>But they saw an opportunity, and they took it. They gave us a loan, under very harsh terms. We had to layoff a huge portion of government employees, state owned industries were sold cheaply to the Germans, we had to raise taxes and lower pensions. And all this, without any actual funding for our state, but with huge spending in favor of the Germans. For example, we had to buy two very expensive submarines from the germans, submarines that are not even completed yet, nor they are ever going to be used in a war. So, basically, we were forced to give away a huge chunk of money to the germans, money that could be used to pay pensions, pay light and heating for our schools, fund the hospitals, ect.<br><br>We are now in the third squeeze of money, and with no end in sight. The EU funds the state, at the same time that impose very harsh terms, and a huge part of the money the state gets, goes back to the EU and the IMF.<br><br>We went into austerity in 2010, and we are still in it. Prices skyrocketed, to the point that normal working people can't afford to have a normal life. Pensions are constantly reduced. Working hours are constantly increasing, while wages are decreasing. And for what? So that the german industrialists and shareholders can line their pockets. It's fucking ridiculous.<br><br>Everyone, please be aware, that if the EU ever asks for permission to form a federal superstate, do everything in your power to prevent it. The EU has become a behemoth of unelected officials, that enforce a neoliberal agenda, meant to suppress the lower classes. They have no regard for democracy, morality or common sense.<br><br>The EU is currently doing the same with Portugal, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta and Slovenia.<br><br>And the UK? Fuck it, I won't comment. That's a whole different story.
