My Husband and I were in a Car Accident...

On Saturday, my husband and I were on our way to Costco with my mother-in-law. As we were leaving our subdivision, my husband and I were chatting and looking at a couple of other houses nearby (looking at Christmas decorations). My husband looked back at the road, and as he did, slammed on the brakes.

I honestly don't know how he didn't hit the car in front of us. I didn't see the accident happen, but the person didn't yield and our car flew into the air, landing on its roof. The woman that hit us got out of her car and was screaming and yelling at us to get out, that the car was on fire. She wasn't lying. I don't know how my husband got out so quickly and came over to my side of the car, but he did. He had to turn off the car, and the smoke just got worse. I tried to get out but couldn't, as my seatbelt was stuck. The woman grabbed my legs and pulled me out of the car as my husband held the door ajar.

In total, we had 11 people witness what happened, and the police have video and witness testimony. We are going to be okay. We have to go back to the body shop, and they will give us a rental car. The front of the car was toast, so now it is in a junk yard.

I have always been A Type personality, but now I am *really* a Type A personality. Driving makes me horribly anxious.

But this isn't about the accident itself. As we were getting out of the car, my husband and I both looked at each other and obviously were in shock and looked at the car, and I said "is this real"?

Strange to say, but I have always felt that there *is* something wrong. When I was a teenager, I always felt off, like something was *off*. When I graduated high school, I had more of a feeling of strangeness. And now, I just have that feeling of "is this really real"? When we were sitting on the grass, other people came over, and it was so strange, so surreal. I know I am not the only person that has this feeling.
