What's the deal with the wall? Is it just to funnel immigrants through certain points, allowing the government to steer immigrants towards specific states?

I dont believe it would stop immigrants. Iv seen 3,000 lb dump trucks drive over 12 foot fences. Just hit the fence fast enough, and its gone. I think there's more to it. Is it just to funnel immigrants towards specific government checkpoints? When there's a wall, there wont be random immigrants crossing over all along the border. They'll be funneled through government checkpoints. Is it to push immigrants through specific points, and direct them into specific states? Maybe its to make immigrants easier to track.
