The way anime fans have somehow equated catgirls with anime is fucking annoying as hell

I don't know how it happened, but the way anime fans have somehow equated "anime" with "catgirls" is fucking annoying. <br><br>I never want to hear the words "nekomimi" or "moe" or "kawaii" again, but somehow they are thrown around when someone talks about anime, even if the anime does not have catgirls at all. It is fucking annoying. <br><br>I just want to be able to talk about anime without the fucking "cute" and "moe" and "kawaii" shit. I just want to be able to talk about anime without being lumped in with all the autists who unironically watch "catgirls do cute things" anime. <br><br>And yet, whenever an anime is popular, the anime "community" will constantly have to bring up "nekomimi" or "kawaii" or "moe" when it has nothing to do with the anime in question. "Are you a fan of moe anime?" "Do you like catgirls?" Why does it even matter?
