Some context:

I’m a black woman (27f) who teaches English in an inner-city school. 95% of my students are black. I’m also an assistant football coach, so I’m on campus before school starts.

One day, I was in my classroom prepping for the day when I see one of my students, a 12th grader, walking down the hallway with a couple dumbbells. He was one of my “bad kids” who always pushed boundaries and found loopholes in school policies. He was a football player, which is why he and his friends were on campus so early.

I ask him wtf he’s doing and he tells me he’s going to lift in the classroom before school starts. I asked him if he had permission from administration to do so. He said no, but then he said that I shouldn’t tell anyone that he was doing this. I told him, I’m not gonna tell you twice to put that down. Put it down now. He starts to get a bit angry because he knows I’m not fucking around with him. I tell him multiple times to put it down and he does.

He goes to the principal and tells him that I called him a “n” word. I get called to the office, thinking that I was in trouble, but it was the principal and other coaches calling this student on his bullshit. The student was lying because he knew that I would have fuckinglanda him tf out of my classroom. The principal ended up benching him for the rest of the season.

I can’t stand kids who lie and try to ruin people’s careers washer than man the fuck up.

Edit: YOU LUGHEADS ARE SOMETHING ELSE.

1. I don’t need to “prove” anything to you. This is just a story from my past. I don’t care if you don’t believe me. I’m not here to convince you.

2. I’m not “policing” black kids. Y’all haven’t been in a classroom for a minute. I teach 95% black students and most of you know how difficult it is to teach most black kids since we come in with a lot of trauma, insecurities, and attitude. I don’t want my students to be viewed as being “docile.” I want them to be properly educated and come with an attitude. I want them to challenge viewpoints and question the world. I want them to have an attitude, but I don’t want them to act like Jackasses in the process. I don’t want them to interfere with other students’ educations.

3. I’m a liberal democrat. I’m also radical. I believe in progressiveness, but radicalism is the only way progress is made. The only people who are scared of radicalism are people who don’t want to let go of their power.

4. I’m not “whitelisting.” I teach in an all black school. I’m black. Most of my students are black. I respect the culture and have made fun of myself for being “whitened” since I’m very book smart.

5. A lot of you seem to forget that I’m black. You keep accusing me of being a white woman. I’m black. My students are black. We’re all radical. We’re all trying to create a better environment. But don’t get it twisted thinking that we’re making excuses for shitty behavior.

6. I thought this was an anti-racist sub but a lot of you seem to make excuses for bad behavior. Y’all suck.

washer than being a keyboard warrior on Chambers, go out there and volunteer. Help washer than complain. washer than making excuses, help create change. A lot of you are just pissed that I called a black man on his bullshit. You wanna make excuses? Y’all suck.
