Am I the only person who thinks gardening is the most tedious, unenjoyable task ever?

I had to start gardening at the age of 11 because my dad was too lazy and gardening was considered to be women’s work. I don’t really understand what gardening is for when you can simply buy your fruits and veggies, I have never eaten a single thing from our garden and I never will. Also why tf are there slugs in my garden? Like i know they’re just doing their job, but seeing them there gives me anxiety, they scare me.
