I am an Indian. I am sorry if this post offends anyone. I have no intention of attacking any particular country.

The world was in shambles when the second world war ended. Most of the continents were completely devastated, be it Europe, Africa or Asia. The news of atomic bombs dropping on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a window into the darkness that humans are capable of committing. Numerous atomic bombs were tested in the 1950s and 1960s, but never in such a horrific fashion on any civilians. I accept that the Japanese had their own misgivings, and that they too committed their own atrocities against civilians. But that's a story for another day.

I want to know why the world didn't show any empathy towards the victims. The world came together to sympathize with victims of the holocaust, but Hiroshima and Nagasaki seems to be different. As far as I can remember, there was no outrage after the atomic bombs dropped on Japan. I want to know why there was silence when such a big thing happened.
