AITA for walking out of a family dinner because I didn’t bring my boyfriend

My grandad at 92 (it’s a long story but basically he’s a mean drunk and he’s not allowed in family events unless he’s sober and that doesn’t happen often) is doing pretty well at the moment , so the family thought we should have a dinner together. <br><br>I didn’t bring my boyfriend for some reason, I don’t know maybe I just wanted a family dinner for once without him. He’s always super nice to me and very accepting but I think I just needed a break for once (we’ve been dating for 7 years) <br><br>Anyway, l had to drive because my parents were busy and had to pick up my niece. When we arrived my grandad was angry about my boyfriend not coming and I tried to explain to him but he started yelling at me. I got sick of it and I walked out <br><br>My family says I’m the asshole for ruining a family dinner for no reason.
