What are some examples of how modern capitalist societies are moving more towards socialism?

For example I know the US has programs like social security, unemployment insurance, etc. But there are also public universities and libraries, which are run by the state. And IIRC public universities are very well-funded too. <br><br>Is the US moving more towards socialism? Or was this just something that was started back in the day and has remained that way? <br><br>Around the world, are there any examples of capitalist countries that are moving towards socialism (or vice versa)?<br><br>Edit: I’m talking about like long-term trends.
