Children shouldn't be allowed in bookstores

A Bookstore is not a playground.

I hate it when parents are lazy and send their older kids into the racks to sit and read a book from the shelf. Often those kids rip the spine or corners off of the covers or spill food or liquids on the spine.

Kids have no respect for the pages and will dog ear books or rip them.

Kids are loud and running around in the isles so you can't read or look in peace.

And kids will literally knock over displays of books just to pet a stuffed animal at the bottom of the display.

Alright now I'm done ranting, thanks for listening.

Edit: this has gotten a lot more traction than I thought it would. I'm glad a lot of people agree. My kids have been in books stores their whole lives. They know how to behave and have never been loud or unruly. I choose to take them to nice places they aren't welcome because I want them to learn when they are old enough, how to behave in public. If kids are in public they should behave. And if they can't behave they shouldn't be in public.

Also, I've never made my kids stay home with relatives when I go run errands. I take them with me. So if they go with me everywhere, they have to learn to behave. I'm sorry you had kids before you were ready for kids.

Lastly, I'm not a kid hater or a misanthrope. I had and have kids. I currently work with kids. I used to teach adults and kids and teens. I love kids. They just need to behave. I don't know if that helps.
