South Carolina and Georgia travelers, is it okay to visit Charleston and Savannah during the holidays?

I know that these cities do not celebrate holidays until after Christmas and New Years, so I figured they would be open, but I haven't taken a holiday trip in a while and I do not know of these cities' holiday hours.<br><br>Also, are the hotels and restaurants booked up during this time, or is it pretty slow?
