“Ready to close your account sir?”

I really don’t know what the hell is going on but I hope it’s still an isolated incident. <br><br>Maybe a month ago I had to go to my local bank to switch to a different kind of account. I reached out to a friend of mine who works there and set up an appointment with him. <br><br>I get to the bank right at the time we agreed to meet at. There’s already a line, but he waves me over and lets me bypass it. We go into one of the private offices, close the door, and get to work. <br><br>After about thirty minutes of paperwork, I told him I needed to use the restroom. He said “go ahead, I’ll be right here.” I get out of the conference room, turn right, and take a few more steps. Maybe three seconds. The restroom is seriously right there. It’s like the size of most other bank restrooms. Just one stall. <br><br>A gentlemen comes in immediately. As soon as the door shuts, he’s behind me. I turn to him and say “Late” with a chuckle. (Ready to close your account sir?) And he says “no.” Now obviously my first thought is that he’s joking with me. But for some reason I was terrified, and I just threw the stall door open, jumped in, and locked it. <br><br>There was no noise, no words, nothing. But I’m terrified. It was probably about 9:30 am so I wasn’t drunk. Was this guy seriously going to rob me in the bank restroom? Before I could think anymore I heard him open the main restroom door and leave. <br><br>I come out, got back to my friend, close my account (I know, I know, poor joke), and get out of there. I told him of what happened and he was obviously freaked out. I asked if he could check the camera footage and he agreed. <br><br>Literally just a few days ago I get a text from him and it’s a literal screenshot of a security camera (not the one inside the bank of course, but the outside one). It’s the absolute creepiest dude with a hoodie and sunglasses in the middle of the day. Walking towards the camera, directly at it, before passing by. Apparently he was even caught on a construction camera across the street. <br><br>Police were called. I’m told they were able to get an image from several angles. Before I got the text my friend had told me that nothing came from the police, that it was shot up to state police for surveillance, and that was it. He texted me the screenshot though with the words “you are seriously not going to believe what the police found.” <br><br>I haven’t heard more nor do I expect to. I never heard from the police. But seriously creepiest dude ever. I don’t know what the hell would’ve happened. I’m just glad I jumped the hell into that stall.
