Random store closing / no store employees

I was at a grocery store the other day and as I was about to leave I seen employee's scrambling around and then they were like "we have to stop all transactions" and then they said "we are closing the store" it was only around 9pm and their hours were 8am-12am. They were kicking everyone out and even told us to call another grocery store to see if they were still open I never had anything like this happen to me before and I was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced something like this.
