I'm not a feminist because I'm not delusional

I've always liked the idea of feminism, but not what it is in reality.

If you've read my previous posts, you'll know that I'm the victim of a domestic abuse and I'm currently in a women's refuge. It's been 2 months and 10 days since I left my ex.

I was sexually assaulted and strangled during the relationship. I was made homeless because of him. Still no arrest. 3 months since my report. I'm still in a room in a refuge.

People say feminism is about equality. Bullshit. I know men who've been in similar situations who were arrested and charged within days. Women who've been strangled have got justice within days.

I'm a shadow of my former self. I was a strong, independent woman, but now I'm broken. I still use my first aid training to save lives; I'm still a police cadet; I still volunteer, but it doesn't feel the same. I feel empty.

I want justice. I deserve justice. But I'm not a priority because I'm a man, and I won't ever be a priority because I'm a man.

Edit: I'll just put this here since I'm getting a lot of comments saying "men can be raped" "it's just as bad for men" "men are often the victims".

This is my point. Men are often the victims, yet we don't get the justice we deserve.
