Did anyone else think reality was different or weird before they found this sub?

I was born in 1987 and was a kid in the 90s. I can't explain it but I always thought time seemed to be flying by or was different in some sort of way. (I remember the summer of 2005, I was a kid and it was one of my most favorite times in my life). I thought something was off about it. So much has happened and it's almost like we went from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s to 2020 overnight.
