Lithuanians don't work hard to get to a better place in life. They work hard to stay in the same mediocre place.

Being one of an upper working class family, I can't help but feel like my family is not really making an effort to work harder to improve their own lives. What they do is they work hard to save their mediocre life from collapsing. They don't really want to work harder to improve their situation but they're working very hard to not get fired from their work. Is it just my family or are there any other people like me that started noticing this?
