What’s the big deal between Israel and Palestine?

I don’t get why everyone is going crazy about Israel-Palestine. I know a bit about it but the reason it’s in the news a lot is that Israel (Government of Israel) has been putting over 5 million Palestinians into the Gaza Strip for 20 years. The Gaza strip was actually created in 1948 and it was already a home for Palestinians from 70 years of war between Israel, Egypt, and Jordan with no room for the Palestinian people. And now, Israel has took over the west bank which has a lot of historical sites for the Palestinians.
