Our house was a dollhouse for this man.

Update: the guy definitely doesn't live in my state or even time zone. I spent 5 hours combing through all the videos he's posted and I've been able to pinpoint his location. My mom and I have found his tiktok and instagram and are in the process of making a police report. I'm also trying to contact the local police station of where he lives. I plan on getting a restraining order as well. There are a couple of other women who claim hes done this to them as well. Also, he has multiple police reports from different states and the charges are usually stalking and harassment. Someone did say that he was convicted of stalking and harassment in one of those states but I couldn't verify that. Thanks so much for all the support and advice! Heck of a birthday present eh?

Update #2: it's been a few months since this incident occurred. Thankfully we finally found out the guy's last name and was able to get a restraining order and file a report with the police. We also contacted our state representatives about this and they've informed us that they are in the process of creating a law to make dollhouse stalking a crime.

I also found out that he used to be a police officer and definitely is a convicted felon.

Also, for the people who asked why we didn't just call the police it's because we didn't have any actionable information for them to work with. And yes, we did try calling them and they basically told us to call back when we had more info on him. Also, I think most of you have never dealt with this because police aren't very nice to you unless you're a victim of a crime like assault. For various stalking cases, the police don't really give a shit. I've heard too many horror stories where the police just don't give a shit.

Original post:

I have never posted here but this is something I felt needed to be told.

I live in the United States, USA, America, etc. Specifically, I live on the East coast. I live in a relatively new neighborhood that's about eight years old. I moved in about five years ago and I have a few neighbors but I'm not really close to any of them.

My house is pretty nice, it's a three story house. The first story is the garage, kitchen, living room, and dining room. The second floor is my parents' bedroom with a decent sized walk-in closet. There's also two bathrooms on that floor as well as a large coat closet. One of the bathrooms is my parent's master bathroom. On the third floor is where my room and a large storage closet are. Our house is pretty nice, it's not a mansion or anything but it's not a crumbly shack either.

I wasn't always staying at my parent's house, I used to go to a university a few states over but Covid hit and I had to come home because all my classes were moved to online. I live with my mother and father as my older brother moved out years ago. I don't feel like I need to tell you too much about my parents except for they're pretty boring folks. They don't do too much except work, watch T.V., and take walks. My father is in his late fifties and my mother is in her early fifties. Both are pretty healthy for the most part.

On to the story.

I know for sure that this started in mid-July when I was walking around the neighborhood and I saw a guy wearing a black T-shirt, jeans, and sunglasses standing in front of my house. He looked at me and smiled and I nodded back in acknowledgement. I didn't really think much of it until I saw him a couple of days later. For a dude I didn't know, he was standing in front of my house a lot. I noticed him two more times in July and shrugged it off. It wasn't until we were grocery shopping that it became really strange.

My mom and I were just walking out of Target and we heard someone say "that's a beautiful house you have." My mom and I looked at each other and I shrugged. Surprisingly, I started to talk to this person. I found myself answering questions like "do you have a swimming pool" or "what's your favorite thing about your house". I impulsively told him that my favorite thing about my house is that there's a little nook between the closet and the wall and the floor is a little bit sunken. It's just a strange thing about that corner of my room but I thought it was a fun little secret.

I noticed he was taking a video of our conversation but oh well. I thought he was just a weird neighbor until a few days later he was standing in front of my house. He waved at me and I tentatively waved back. I had been home for about three months at this point and I couldn't understand why I keep seeing this man.

Fast forward to August, I'm walking around the neighborhood and I see this man and woman walking towards me. They definitely look like a couple and the guy has a big smile on his face and the woman has a very neutral expression. My eyes lock onto them and we all stand there for a while. I don't know how long it was, but I didn't notice until the woman started talking to the man.

"You can't just watch someone all day. This is damn near stalking." She said and I definitely agreed with her but I wouldn't say it out loud. The man looked at her and started talking in a low voice. I couldn't hear what he was saying but I'm assuming it had to do with what she just said.

The woman walked away from him and got into the car. I watched it all unfold and then I realized that I really had no business watching. I took my leave as the guy started to glance over at me.

I didn't see him for a while after that but not really surprising. Sometimes I'd see him walking around the neighborhood but he'd always be by himself. I figured his lady friend dumped his creepy ass.

Well, it got even weirder in September. I was playing with my cat outside in my front yard when he walked by. He said hi and I ignored him. I didn't acknowledge him, I didn't even look at him. I had already started to feel a level of discomfort whenever I saw him but this took the cake.

He stopped right in front of my yard.

"Yep, that's where I'd put the cat bed." He said.

I'm not even joking you guys, my cat bed is literally in the spot he pointed to. It's like he knows what my house looks like inside.

I'm not gonna lie, I started shaking a little. He knows my house.

The rest of September was fine, but in October is when I started getting the gifts. He's dropped off like five housewarming gifts and none of them have a card or note. I didn't even know it was him until I talked to my neighbor.

In October, I was walking around the neighborhood and I saw him again. This time with a camera in his hand. He was walking around my house, taking pictures and videos, but I think he was mostly recording the surroundings.

I don't know what to do.

The house next door is currently being sold but I'm afraid he's going to buy it. I'm afraid he knows the inside of my house.

This is a new level of weird.

I don't know what to do.

I've told my mom but they're skeptical. They say they haven't seen him around.

I just want this to end.
