I think the U.S. deserves a bit of shit for this whole issue.

I'm British, and I like guns. I think everyone deserves the right to own firearms, and to that end, I am an active member of a few pro gun groups. I wish the U.S. luck, and I truly hope you are able to protect your rights.

However I have to say I personally disagree with certain people's attitudes and I think the U.S. as a country deserves a bit of shit for this. When you consider the fact that NZ essentially banned all semi auto centre fire rifles, and pistols over a certain size in a week, and you think about the fact that the U.S. is yet to do anything, it's a bit sad. For a country that prides itself on freedom, and being able to point at other countries and laugh as they're rights are eroded, you sure as hell aren't acting very free, and those of you who are happy to let your government trample your rights are part of the problem.

I'm not saying that everyone who lives in the U.S. is like this, but I personally think that the U.S. has let all pro gun people down with this. If you can't protect your rights as gun owners, why should we have to protect ours? We look up to you, you are supposed to be the gold standard of freedom, you are supposed to be the people who all other pro gun people look up to, you are the only people capable of stopping a world wide gun ban, and you're failing us.

So to all those in the U.S. who are protesting, who are fighting, who are working their assess of, you have my utmost respect, and I am honoured to call you my brothers and sisters in arms. To all those who are sitting on their asses, bemoaning their lack of guns, and doing nothing, you make me sick, you're part of the problem, and I think you deserve to be called out on it.

Edit: Some of you don't seem to get that I think the people who do nothing are to blame. Not the people who are working hard to protect their rights. I have nothing but respect for those people, and they're the reason why there's still hope. I'm not depressed, and I'm not giving up. What I am, is disappointed. Disappointed in a country that prides itself in being the bastion of freedom, disappointed in the people who would let their rights be infringed, disappointed in the U.S. as a whole.
