What ever happened to the anime genre called "slice of life"?

I used to love watching slice of life anime, stuff like Ouran Highschool Host Club, theres this one where all the characters are in a highschool music club (can't remember the name), Golden Time was also a great one. <br><br>I'm not really seeing many of these types of anime being produced anymore, I'm not sure if it's the changes in my own viewing habits, but it's just not the same as it used to be. I want to just be able to watch an innocent highschool anime that isn't based around some supernatural power, or some weird demon thing that needs to be beat up by the main character.
