#Edit: I never intended on this thread being a hate thread, I love having respectful conversations and I don’t believe hate will change anyone’s mind. I apologize if I came off that way. Thank you all!

Kanye West is not a genius. He is simply a lackluster rapper with a bunch of lackluster rappers that used his producer skills to get his foot in the door as a rapper

Alright so let me make a few things clear before we start. I think Kanye is an amazing producer and he has a knack for creating catchy songs.

However, I don’t think he is a genius. Yes he was revolutionary for his time, yes he has created iconic music. But his skills as a rapper are incredibly lackluster. I think that the reason why he was so revolutionary was because the rappers in the early 2000’s were not very talented. As an example look at some of the big rappers of the time. 50 cent, Lil pump, Lil jon and Ludacris. Then compare those to some rappers from the 90’s. Tupac, Nas, Biggie, Jay Z, and the Notorious B.I.G. Now I’m not saying that he helped bring lackluster rappers to fame. Then with his narcissistic disorder, I think that Kanye believes that he’s a much better rapper than he actually is. This can be seen in his massive amount of features in his songs. He is not a good rapper and will send all the hate possible my way for saying this, but it is simply a fact.

Jay Z once had a quote with his song 99 problems. “I’m not a businessman. I’m a business, man.” I think that Kanye is a great example of that. He IS a genius when it comes to business. He has used the controversy surrounding him to get his name and music all over the media and to his fans. He has been able to use his rapping skills to get into the producer business. It is obvious that Kanye is a great business man. But a good rapper? Not one bit. The amount of anger I received on my first Chambers post by simply stating that I don’t think he is a great rapper is disheartening and makes me realize that I need to challenge myself more. I’ll try to have this conversation with the fans instead of the hate and the anger. I think that is a great way to see another point of view.

Now please show me where I’m wrong

EDIT: Holy moly this thread blew up. I had almost 1k upvoted in an hour. Thank you all for participating. I really appreciate it. I love Chambers conversations and I hope that this conversation can be civil and without any hate. Much love <3.

EDIT 2: This was my first thread. Thank you all for the warm welcome. All 7k of you. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out a couple of my other threads as well. I love chambers conversations. They’re a great way to see the world from another perspective.

EDIT 3: I just realized that I’m not the only one who thinks this way. Thank you all for the support. I love having respectful conversations and I don’t want this to devolve into another Chambers hate fest
