It took me a few hours to commit to this, and i don't have words to be able to express the joy and the proudness that i feel.

I haven't watched the whole speech, i'm about to do so now, but i know that my new Prime Minister Naftali Bennet is going to say the words that i have been waiting to hear for decades:

"We are here at least 4,000 years, we will never ever leave this land. All of it is ours. It is amazing to think that for the last 73 years of statehood we have been discussing whether we should be here at all. We are entitled to this land, not the terrorist Palestinian entity".

"We are here to stay. Forever. We are the indigenous people of this land, we are not settlers. We are entitled to this land, not the terrorist Palestinian entity.

We are not occupiers".

And now, for the most important part:

"We will never ever give control of Arab communities to the Palestinian Authority".

This line in particular, though short, means a million words to me.

Most of my family lives in those communities and many of us are very worried about our safety and our well being.

The logorrhea of the Palestinian authority and its terrorist factions is well known. We are (rightly) terrified of what could happen to us if we were to fall under their control.

This is my homeland, but i cannot trust my own blood to protect me, because we are Druze.

And as Druze, we are Israeli to the bone and we are proud of our contributions to this nation and our loyalty and dedication to it.

Today, Bennet has given me the award that i have been waiting for decades.

This is the most important thing that has ever happened in my life.

This is my award for this life.

And as a Druze, i never believed that i could ever say that this was my country. I always felt like a stranger in my own homeland.

Today, Bennet has said that we are not just citizens, but that we are also entitled to this land.

I have never felt so proud of being Israeli.

I am no longer a stranger in my homeland.

Thank you Bennet!!

And as my people usually says:

"Its better to be a lion's tail than a fox's head".

Or in our Arabic dialect:

"خايب آعلم من عقول".

It means: "Shame will kill you before death itself will".

This is my homeland.

Never ever be ashamed of it, unless you want to die of shame.

And this is my nation.

Never ever be ashamed of it, unless you want to die of shame.
