Hey there drug takers, this is an old stoner who's been taking drugs for 30 years. I don't usually post here because when I've got something to say I'm usually too high to type out a coherent paragraph. But today I'm making an exception. Little story for you, I've been taking drugs for 30 years because I'm a child of the 80s. When I was a kid my parents used to tell me that drugs would kill me or something but when I tried them I found out that they were actually fun. Since then I've taken a lot of drugs, I've tried almost everything. I've always been super careful, I've never had an OD that was my fault (having a medical condition that means I can't have certain opioid painkillers helps keep me away from the worst drugs) and I've only been to rehab once (alcohol). Never once have I had a drug scare me enough to make me run away from it entirely. That is, until recently.

Recently I started reading articles about the ketamine supply chain being corrupted by a new substance. Apparently, some drug dealers are now selling a drug called "mket" masquerading as ketamine, and it does not behave like ketamine. The articles were talking about how mket was showing up in ERs for being way stronger and causing a worse comedown than ketamine. But I thought nothing of it, I'm a very seasoned drug user and I know how to handle my drugs. However, the first time I took some recently purchased ketamine I immediately knew something was wrong. I'm a big guy and it takes a lot to knock me out, so I started taking big doses, but no matter how much of the ketamine I took, I didn't feel high. I finally took way more than I usually would and suddenly I was knocked out. Except I wasn't like my usual ketamine high. I was completely blacked out, no tunnel vision, no out of body experience, no Greta Perelandra, no nothing. Just a complete blackout. I woke up 5 hours later with no memory of anything. It was in that moment I knew that something was different about this ketamine. A day later I decided to take more, but a lot less than before. However, I got the same blackout. This bothered me so I started doing more research. I went on bluelight and read a few threads about people's experiences with "the new ketamine". I was shocked with what I found. People were having horrible trips, blacking out, getting hurt, and just generally having terrible experiences. I was also surprised at how often this was popping up and it seemed like nobody knew how widespread this had become or who was affected. So I had a theory. Since I'm a big guy and not often prone to blacking out from drugs, I figured the best way to test my theory was to get some drugs and give them to smaller people and see how they react. On Friday I had two friends come over to hang out and I offered them drugs. I'm not a drug dealer and I don't like giving people drugs who aren't used to taking them, but in the name of science I gave my two friends some of my newly purchased ketamine. Let me describe my friends. Friend 1 was a 5 foot tall 100 pound young woman who takes hard drugs regularly, but she was sober for this experiment. Friend 2 was a 5 foot 6 inch tall 130 pound man who occasionally vapes weed and drinks, but he does not do hard drugs. I gave them both a dose of 2g oral which is a normal dose for a beginner with ketamine. Within 30 minutes they were both blackout drunk. I tried to help them but they could not stand up or communicate with me and I had to literally drag them to my bed. They laid there for 6 hours doing absolutely nothing, completely blacked out. This was scary, I did not expect them to react this way and I've never seen a drug hit people like this before. I was so glad that I had only given them a small dose and not a big dose like I had done. I called an ambulance and had them taken to the hospital. 24 hours later they were in extreme mental and physical pain. Friend 1 had thrown up everywhere and had broken out in a rash. Friend 2 was having extreme hallucinations and was in extreme emotional pain. It's been 3 days since they took that ketamine and they still aren't feeling fully recovered yet. Watching this was terrifying. I've been let down by drugs before, but I've never seen a drug let me down like this. I've never seen two people be hurt by a drug like this before, especially a drug that I had been taking for fun. Within a day of the incident, I flushed all my remaining drugs down the toilet. Watching those two people suffer like that was so scary, I cannot imagine what it would have been like if I had given them a larger dose.

So, to my fellow drug takers, it's time to stop taking ketamine. I love taking drugs, but I also don't want to die or be hurt by them. It's time to stop taking this drug and wait until further notice. I'm so glad that my two friends are recovering, and I'm glad that they only took a little bit. If you take drugs regularly, I implore you, run some tests, check with your dealer, or just stop taking it entirely. It may have been fun in the past, but it is not fun now. If you know people who take drugs, please let them know. We don't need any more people to get hurt like this. It's time to stop taking this drug and run some fucking tests.
