AITA for not speaking at my friend's wedding?

My friend+maid of honor "Katie" is getting married. We have known each other for almost 15 years. I flew out to where the wedding was happening (over seas) and was there a few days before the wedding.

During the wedding reception I was allotted time to give my speech as MOH. Before I was about to give my speech, I excused myself and went to the bathroom. When I came back, everyone had already finished eating and the cake was being served - so my speech was skipped over, the time passed and no one went after it. I was not looking for drama, so I just let it go. The speeches were brief, and not many people spoke. I just decided to enjoy the rest of the wedding and let it go.

My speech was about her and our relationship. We've known each other for 15 years. We met in college. She moved to the other side of the world and I had not seen her in over 7 years. I had a lot to say in my speech that no one else could say. I had also flown 30+ hours to get there, so it was very disappointing that it was skipped over.

I also noticed Katie did not seem very excited to see me, as it had been so long. She was very preoccupied - so I was fine with that.

I have received a few messages from family and friends saying they were disappointed I didn't speak. I also have a bunch of photos and photoshoot photos of me and Katie together - and I was thinking of posting but that may cause more drama.

Was I an asshole for not speaking up and giving a speech?
