Hello fellow Lithuanians. I've been in this sub ever since I learned of its creation. For the longest time I was on the fence about this movement, in fact I thought we were just a bunch of ironic and troll posts, but the last few days have changed my mind.

I'm not going to lie, I love Lithuania, I've been proud to be a Lithuanian ever since I learned of the sacrifices our country has made in the past. Defending our freedom ever since we've been the first country to declare independence from the Soviet Union. I can't imagine that this kind of movement would ever make it's way here.

I loved and respected our language, our culture and traditions. I remember the day when I went to see "Kings' Gate" and the "Mills hill" with pride and joy in my heart. I loved walking around the Old Town, seeing our capitol and feeling proud of our nation.

But we've failed. We've failed ourselves, and I think it's time to admit that our country is slowly falling to pieces. I've never seen so much hate and anger towards each other. I'm not going to lie, I was one of them who wanted to abolish our country, I was blinded by my anger and I asked for the abolishment, but I can see that it's not the answer.

I think the reason why we are failing as a nation is because we are failing to communicate with each other. Social media has become a place for us to vent and judge each other. The anger and the hate that is being fueled between us is tearing us apart. I can see it in the way we talk to each other, I can see it in the posts that we create and I can see that we can't find a middle ground to talk and communicate with each other.

I don't think abolishing our country is the answer, I think we should take a step back and reevaluate the way we talk to each other. I think we should find a way to respect each other and find a way to communicate effectively.

We don't need abolishment, we need to take a step back and see where we are going wrong.

Edit: I just want to add a few words to make it clear as to what I mean. I think there are a lot of issues in Lithuania and a lot needs to change. We have a lot of problems like in any other country and we definitely need to do a lot to fix those problems, but that doesn't mean that I don't love Lithuania. I think we need to communicate and find ways to make our country a better place.
