CMV: "Boy or Girl" is the only identity that belongs to children

I'm not sure what to call my children anymore. My kids are 6 years old, 4 years old, and 2 years old. I was ready to just not talk about this with my kids. However, my wife convinced me that I need to talk to them. The problem is that my wife wants to teach them that there are more than two genders. Her logic is "our kids know the difference between boy and girl, but what really is the difference? If you are going to tell them one then you have to tell them the other." So I told them that there is man and woman, girl and boy, and people who don't identify. I also explained non-binary in a way that they could understand. <br><br>However, I personally don't think that is a healthy view to teach children. I'm concerned that I may be doing my kids a disservice by telling them that they could be potentially anyone. My wife says this is to open their minds and to help them get more comfortable with who they are. I just want them to grow up to be happy. <br><br>CMV.
