I'm not talking about if you go for a couple of days once a year, I'm talking about the people that stay out in the wilderness for weeks or even months on end. I'm sure you all think it's fun, spending time with nature, bonding, escaping reality, getting back to your caveman roots, etc.

But let me tell you, every time you destroy the environment by camping, you're taking away someone else's ability to do the same in the future. When you cut down trees, trample bushes, boil water, kill insects, disturb wildlife, start a fire, shit in a bush, etc. you're destroying the planet a little bit.

And for what? So you can have a "fun" experience? Fuck off. Every time you camp you're ruining the planet and being a selfish prick. If you genuinely think that it's worth it then there's nothing I can say that will change your mind, you're beyond help.

EDIT: To the people that are replying with comments like "Not all camping! We leave no trace other than ash and a tiny hole in the ground! We're actually *helping* the environment!" Yes, I am talking about you. You're still doing the same things listed above, and your presence is still ruining the environment and subtracting from the planet.

EDIT 2: This got removed from r/unpopularopinion. This is my first post on this sub, so please let me know if I did something wrong :)
