For the first time in my life I caught an episode of America's next top model and I have some observations

First off the creator seems extremely fun, quirky and passionate about the entire thing. The show's editing seems to be very good as well.

However, I was able to catch 3 episodes so far and all three times a contestant would be eliminated and then come up with some horseshit like "I was eliminated because I was black" or "I was eliminated because I'm drag". Or many other super duper mega ultra sensitive topics that I don't feel like listing.

I am a white guy from Europe, so obviously I have no clue how race/drag sensitivity is in the US. I am hoping y'all can answer.

Is it really a thing to be eliminated from a show because you're black and not good at modeling?

Or is it just a bunch of contestants on the show trying to shift the attention away from their lack of talent to something to get a sympathy boost?
