My son just got arrested for shoplifting.

A package of Reese’s Cups, a water bottle and a Slim Jim. <br><br>He’s 13.<br><br>At the police station now. <br><br>Mom is away on business, I’m the Dad. <br><br>The store is pressing charges, but the cop is on our side. They think he should be scared straight without any permanent record.<br><br>He’s never done anything like this before. <br><br>I am dreading when his mom finds out. And I am not comfortable with this being on his permanent record. <br><br>I’m considering hiring a lawyer. <br><br>Any thoughts?
