The Library of Babel is an infinite library, where all the books are the same size and have the same number of pages and contain all the possible combinations of the symbols used in the books. In the story, there is an infinite expanse of library, and an infinite number of librarians, all searching for the books that contain meaning and knowledge.

Is it the same thing with the internet? It seems like I’ve been spending my time scrolling through endless amounts of garbage on the internet in a search for literal gold.

What if the internet was the infinite library, and we were all the librarians, wandering the digital halls in search of the nextdoor neighbor who can make a mean roasted chicken.

What would Jorge Luis Borges think if he knew that we were literal, digital versions of the shit he came up with.
