The Titanic was intentionally sunk for (maybe?) insurance and to kill some very wealthy people.

So I have been doing some digging and it's all so crazy. We have all heard of insurance scams, where people burn down their houses or crash their cars for insurance money. So what if that's what happened? However this time it just so happened that three of the wealthiest people in the world were on the ship.

Now if you're anything like me you think of the titanic as a wooden ship with sails like the Mayflower or something dumb. The Titanic was MASSIVE and made of steel and had steam engines, it was like an unsinkable metal castle that just happened to float.

Apparently in 1907 there was already a conspiracy theorist saying that "if you put a hole in a ship big enough the pumps wouldn't be able to keep up and it would sink".

Now, there are a bunch of different theories but the one that makes the most sense is probably the "switching theory". There was a ship called the Olympic that was built at the same time as the Titanic, it looked almost exactly the same except it had a few minor cosmetic changes. The theory is that the Titanic and the Olympic were swapped, and the "Titanic" that set sail to America was actually the Olympic in disguise, the original Titanic was in Harland and Wolff shipyard being repaired and the Olympic had been deemed unsinkable so they were going to have it be the Titanic since it was unsinkable anyway.

This is the part I'm sure many of you are going to call me a crackpot for, because it seems like the people who own the White Star Line (The company who owns the Titanic) actually colluded with the Harland and Wolff shipyard to intentionally damage the (Olympic) Titanic. Essentially having the ship scrape against a known reef in Ireland that they use to test ships against (kind of like a beater car but for boats). They would then receive insurance money for a new ship being built. The Harland and Wolff shipyard received the contract to build the new ship, so they received even more money.

Then... there is the theory about the wealthy people who (unfortunately) had to die in the sinking of the ship. This is the part that I don't have as much concrete evidence for, but it seems there were a few wealthy businessmen on the ship like John Jacob Astor, Isidor Straus, and some other millionaires. Apparently they were against the creation of the federal reserve... I'm not sure how true all of this part is, but it's definitely interesting.

So yeah, it's definitely possible that the sinking of the Titanic was a conspiracy.
