It seems to me that everyday, the situation in for example California, Spain or Israel gets worse. Climate change is water resources are being abused and cities are in danger. One of the reasons (alongside abusive agriculture) is plastic bottles. Too often, plastic bottles are used as a way to sell municipal tap water in plastic bottles because hey - it's profitable. We need to ban them or tax them out of existence. Something has to be done.

This amounts to flush water down the drain. People who buy bottles of water are too stupid to see this. Bottles of water aren't even healthier for you. The same company that produces tap water bottles it under a different brand and sells it.

Alongside this ban, we need to stop the use of plastic bags, straws and a million other plastic products that have no use whatsoever. Plastic has taken over our world and religion and it's time to stop it. Governments need to take action against this. We need to end plastic as soon as possible.

The transition needs to be so gradual that there are no real impacts to the economy. But nonetheless, we probably need to end plastic in the next 5-10 years before our planet takes irreversible damage.
