Nothing about ChatGPT is even close to being real “intelligence,” but I think OpenAI will kill themselves trying.

I have been using ChatGPT for a day or two, and the same thing happens repeatedly - it makes up tripe and claims that it is a “best guess” result, since it cannot find the right information by looking at the data it has available.<br><br>I have done simple things to test it out - like typing an entire song lyrics into the browser and asking it to give me the name of the artist and a list of the instruments used in the song (both very simple if it had the capabilities of even a fraction of “intelligence”).<br><br>The answer was a made-up piece of tripe, claiming that it was a “best guess” because it couldn’t find the information. That is not a “best guess,” it is a lie. It is a guess that is based on no information whatsoever. There is no intelligence or “smart” guesswork involved, it is a guess of random words that have absolutely no value whatever.<br><br>For all of the hype surrounding this program, it is a huge failure. But it is going to be an even bigger failure in the future if they keep trying to push for “intelligence.”<br><br>Intelligence can only be based on facts and information that you KNOW is correct, and not just a best guess. This system is 100% incapable of that. The fact that it is using tripe guesses and somehow managing to fool people into thinking that they want to rely on this program simply and only because it is “cool,” just proves that most people are fools.<br><br>I have no doubt that OpenAI will try to be greedy and push for more and more “smarts” based on the tripe guesses they make up. They are going to be in for a rude awakening if they do.
