Why is hydrocodone distinguishable by the taste?

I took 2 10mg in a couple of minutes. The one tasted minty like trident gum and the other tasted very sweet like cotton candy.<br><br>Is that normal for some codeine based pills to be flavored?<br><br>Edit: I recently bought some more and they taste like lemon and orange.
