I thought I was a normal guy from a normal family until I saw my father’s Google Maps location history

I was bored and messing around on Google Maps when I found something weird.<br><br>By distance, the most frequent place my father has been to is the airport. That’s not particularly unusual, except that the second most frequent place he’s been to is his office, which is now closed.<br><br>So I clicked on that office to see what was up. The first time he visited that address was 18 months ago. The most recent time he visited that address was this morning. It’s usually in the morning, but I can confirm that he has been there at least once at midnight.<br><br>So I start thinking that this is probably where his company is based in the legal sense, and that they have some server room or office in the building. But then I see that 18 months ago, he went there every day. After that, he started going there every other day. And in the last month, despite the office being closed, he’s been going there every day again, as well as sometimes at midnight.<br><br>That’s not the weirdest part though. This is the weirdest: the location is about a block away from his house. My parents have never lived or worked in the city. They’ve always lived in the suburbs. But that office is about a block away from his house. After some digging, it turns out that he bought that office a year ago, and that he has been there a total of 181 times, usually in the morning, and sometimes at midnight.<br><br>So now I’m wondering what the hell he’s doing at that office every day. He’s in his 50s and his company has been closed for months. My parents are quite rich, and he doesn’t need to work anymore, but at the same time, he’s the kind of person who just can’t sit around.<br><br>I looked him up on LinkedIn to see if he has a new job, and it turns out that he has his own company. It’s called “Asterion Services” and it’s based in the office. That’s about it. That’s all the information I found. After a bit of Googling, I found that Asterion was the name of the Minotaur in Greek mythology.<br><br>I finally asked my father, and he’s not very happy that I looked him up. He said that I need to respect people’s privacy, and that his job as a consultant for big companies, and that he can’t disclose any information despite me being his son.<br><br>I thought I knew my parents, but I guess I don’t.
